Mercedes-AMG Petronas team is confident that Scuderia Ferrari will be a bigger threat in 2016. Toto Wolff, Owner and Executive Director, Mercedes-AMG F1 team is confident that his team will maintain its advantage next year.
Scuderia Ferrari has made progress during the 2015 Formula One Championship. The Italian outfit has made giant strides during the season and will be putting in extra efforts over the winter. Ferrari won only three races out of the 19 races in the 2015 season with Sebastian Vettel.
Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel have been putting in a lot of effort in improving Ferrari. Both drivers are keen to win again and be on the podium as many times as possible. Vettel has outperformed Raikkonen in his very first season with the Italian team.
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were competing against each other during 2015 F1 season. Hamilton won the Championship fair and square with Rosberg only 59 points adrift. The duo has dominated Formula One Championship for the last two years.
Technical updates are limited in Formula One during the season. Teams are also not allowed to develop or change their engine during the season. New engines and components are also predetermined and drivers opting for new parts or components receive grid penalties.
Most teams believe that Mercedes will continue to dominate the 2016 Championship. Teams like Ferrari, Renault, and Honda are playing catch up with Mercedes. It will be interesting to see which team is most closest to Mercedes' performance. The sport needs more competition and we could see it in next year's Championship.
