Mercedes India Receives Order Of 55 E-Class By Ministry Of External Affairs

Mercedes-Benz India has received an overwhelming order from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. An order for 55 Mercedes E 250 CDI sedans has been placed. The Ministry will be leasing the vehicles from the luxury car maker.

The E 250 CDI luxury sedans will be utilised by foreign dignitaries of the Ministry. This comprises of Head of states, Presidents, Prime Ministers and top Diplomats. Several of the vehicles will be accepted ahead of the upcoming India Africa Forum Summit or IAFS.

Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, expressed, the German luxury brand is the popular choice among several dignitaries around the world. Mercedes-Benz offers a sense of prestige, luxury, comfort, and safety that cannot be replicated.

He further added, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India opting for E-Class sedan, proves trust and confidence in the brand. Luxury car buyers have also ensured Mercedes-Benz is the number one seller in the Indian market during 2015.

The E-Class sedan is Mercedes-Benz's very first product to be locally produced in India, since 1995. Over the years, Mercedes-Benz has managed to sell over 30,000 units of E-Class in the country. It is also the most popular luxury vehicle in India currently.

Mercedes-Benz E 250 CDI is powered by an inline four-cylinder 2143cc diesel engine. The sedan is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 7.5 seconds and can attain a top speed of 242 km/h. This engine produces 201.15bhp and 500Nm of torque.
