Mercedes-Benz India Inaugurates New R&D Facility In Pune

Mercede-Benz India has brought a wide range of products to the country. They recently inaugurated their new assembly facility at their Chakan plant.

The German manufacturer has now inaugurated an all-new R&D facility in Hinjewadi, Pune. It is called Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India or MBRDI.

Thomas Merker, Vice President - Body and Safety, Mercedes-Benz Cars Development and Chairman MBRDI expressed, "MBRDI plays an important role within our global research and development organization."

He further added, "The new facility in Pune marks another milestone and allows us to expand while still being close to both our Mercedes-Benz plant and our relevant automotive suppliers. For us, India is a strategic location as emerging market, for the competent talent pool and global supplier network."

Mercedes-Benz has invested in an area of 46,000 square feet facility for R&D purposes. It has a capacity of 400 employees and is situated at Embassy Tech Zone in SEZ in Hinjewadi, Pune.

The German luxury car manufacturer has promised to launch 15 new models in India during 2015. They have a very few vehicles still remaining to be launched and promise something exciting and exhilarating.
