2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz IAA Concept Revealed
The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show has kept many carmakers busy with their vehicles and technology that are to be revealed.
Mercedes-Benz had a few treats up its sleeve for the Frankfurt Motor show and it has revealed its first-the Mercedes-Benz IAA Concept.
IAA, which stands for Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile, is all about aerodynamics. The four-door coupe measures 5,040 mm long and while the car is driven above 80 km/h, it magically stretches to 5,430 mm in length in its aerodynamic mode!
Front flaps, front and rear bumpers extend themselves, making the car longer and help the airflow better over and around the car. Even the wheels alter their cupping to improve the airflow!
Powering the car is a petrol-electric hybrid motor that produces 275 horsepower and in pure electric mode, the car can cover a range of 66 km.
The interior of the car is finished in white and feature eight air vents produced by Swarovski on commission by Mercedes-Benz. the carmaker says this "provides an idea of what the interior of a business saloon might look like in the near future."
The future production models could feature some design elements from the IAA Concept!
