At the 2015 Shanghai motor show, German luxury car maker has brought a new concept to be unveiled. Mercedes-Benz will be revealing its all new GLC Coupe concept at the motor show.
Recently Mercedes-Benz has begun an onslaught of products involving facelifts to all-new concepts. The GLC Coupe concept borrows design cues from other models to give it a sense of familiarity.
Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Daimler AG, expressed, "With its modern and sensual design idiom, the concept GLC Coupe gives a foretaste of future SUV models from Mercedes-Benz."
He further added, "At the same time, it embraces the typical values of tradition-steeped Mercedes-Benz coupes."
Mercedes-Benz has revealed its all-new GLC Coupe concept at 2015 Shanghai motor show. The vehicle is almost production ready and several design elements will be carried forward.
The front of GLC Coupe concept has a bold and large three-pointed star in the centre. It has a sporty stance owing to its large radiator grille and twin blade louvre. Mercedes-Benz has opted for a race anywhere type of vehicle presence. They have provided the vehicle with a skid plate as well, which merge into the large side air scoops.
The side has a unique and sloping down design, which may appeal to some and not to others. GLC Coupe concept gets integrated roof rails providing a sporty avatar. Mercedes has retained a few of their SUV traits with the large wheel arches and prominent body lines.
The rear end of GLC Coupe concept looks very stylish and modern. It has a prominent sloping roof line typical of a coupe. Mercedes designers have provided a unique LED tail light section. We would also like to see the four exhaust pipes on the production model as it lends a sporty persona to this vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz engineers will be providing the GLC Coupe with a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo, direct injection engine. It will produce 367 horsepower, along with 520 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 9G-TRONIC, Direct Select transmission.
Mercedes-Benz is most likely going to bring this vehicle to India as well. We believe the German based manufacturer will showcase it at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi. It is in pre-production stage and this concept is more or less how the GLC Coupe will look like.
