McLaren Takes A Can Opener To The 675LT - Launches The 675LT Spider
McLaren Automotive has launched the drop top version of the 675LT(Longtail), called the 675LT Spider. Like its coupe sibling the 675LT Spider will have a limited production run of just 500 units.
The new convertible features the same power and torque output, 666bhp and 700Nm as its coupe cousin but it has gained 40 kilos due to the addition of the folding hardtop. The weight gain isn't that large because of the use of carbon-fibre in the construction of the car. The 0 — 100km/h print takes just 2.9 seconds and the top speed is 326km/h.
Styling wise, it retains the same looks as its hardtop sibling but when you open the roof, it exposes two humps behind the driver and passenger, a nod to McLaren's F1 roots. The Spider also gets a special paintjob called Solis (basically a shade of Gold). The Spider also comes with 10-spoke alloy wheels as standard, but buyers can also choose between an all new 20-spoke option or the regular five-spoke option.
Prices for the 675LT Spider start at £285,450, £25,950 more than the coupe.
