Maruti Launches WagonR, Stingray AMT Variants; Prices, Specs, & More!

Maruti Suzuki launches the WagonR with Auto Gear Shift, ABS, and dual airbags in India ahead of Diwali. Customers will have a choice between two variants: VXi AMT and VXi AMT (Option).

Maruti Suzuki WagonR with Auto Gear Shift pricing details:

• VXi AMT model is priced at Rs. 4.77 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi)
• VXi AMT (Option) model is priced at Rs. 5.10 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi)

Previously, Maruti Suzuki offered its Auto Gear Shift (AGS) only in the Celerio and Alto K10 models. The carmaker promised several of its models will be equipped with AGS, as many Indians are opting for it and are ready to shell out more money for additional convenience.

Surprisingly, the WagonR with manual and AGS delivers similar mileage figures. Maruti Suzuki confirms both transmission options return mileage figures of 20.51 km/l as per test results of rule 115 of CMVR, 1989.

Maruti Suzuki has also decided to provide their Auto Gear Shift option in the Stingray. In all, four models will be offered with optional AGS in the Indian market: Celerio, Alto K10, WagonR, and Stingray.

Maruti Suzuki Stingray with Auto Gear Shift pricing details:

• VXi AMT model is priced at Rs. 4.98 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi)
• VXi AMT (O) model is priced at Rs. 5.31 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi)

The WagonR AMT is powered by a 998cc, three-cylinder, K10B aluminium petrol engine. The engine is tuned to produce 67.07bhp and 90Nm of peak torque. Maruti Suzuki provides the Stingray with an identical engine with similar performance figures.
