Maruti Suzuki Postpones The Manufacture Of Its Diesel Engine
Maruti Suzuki is selling a high volume of cars in the Indian market. They offer both petrol and diesel engine options under the hood of their vehicles.
Both Swift hatchback and Swift Dzire compact sedan are doing exceptionally well in terms of sell. Maruti Suzuki offers both models with petrol as well as a diesel engine option.
Currently the Japanese manufacturer has been sourcing diesel engines from Fiat India. Maruti Suzuki is only developing petrol engines for their four-wheelers in the nation.
To increase their profits the manufacturer had announced that they would commence development and manufacture of their very own diesel mill for Indian products.
Maruti Suzuki now will be postponing the manufacture of their locally made diesel mill. This engine was supposed to be used in their upcoming models for India.
They have, however, developed a smaller 800cc diesel mill which will be used in their Celerio. The 1.5-litre diesel on the other hand will be pushed further back to 2016.
Suzuki was looking at introducing their very own diesel mill in their new compact SUV and premium hatchback. The introduction of this engine would bring down cost and increase profits for the manufacturer.
