Maruti Suzuki Imports Vitara Compact SUV To India
Maruti Suzuki has imported the Vitara compact SUV to India, hint that it could be launched soon. The Vitara is based on Suzuki's XA Alpha concept, which was displayed at 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. Later on it was showcased again in pre-production guise as the iV-4 concept at 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The Vitara is already on sale in European markets and is expected to go on sale in India to take care of the competition. In India Maruti Suzuki's Vitara will go up against Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, and soon to be launched Honda BR-V compact SUV.
In terms of engine options Maruti Suzuki is most likely to offer a 1.4-litre petrol engine. They will also be offering either a 1.3-litre Fiat sourced diesel engine or their very own 1.6-litre diesel engine in the compact SUV.
Pricing will be key in the success of Maruti Suzuki Vitara and rarely does the manufacturer go wrong. The latest compact SUV from Maruti is expected to receive starting price between Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh ex-showroom. Maruti Suzuki is most likely to showcase the Vitara at 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and will launch it in the following months.
Maruti Suzuki will sell the Vitara compact SUV exclusively through their NEXA Dealership across the country. The compact SUV will be a premium offering and will be sold alongside the S-Cross premium crossover and Baleno premium hatchback models.
