Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel Variant Could Launch By Mid-2015
One of the most popular vehicles by Maruti Suzuki in India after their 800 hatchback, is the Celerio. Ever since the launch of Celerio, people have been waiting for a diesel variant.
Perhaps the wait for it is finally going to come to an end by mid-2015 in India. Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel hatchback has been spied sitting in the manufacturers stockyard.
With the introduction of Celerio diesel, Maruti Suzuki is expecting a bump in sales in huge numbers. The hatchback is currently doing well in India, however, the Japanese manufacturer wants to increase its sales by a notch.
Here are the engine specifications for Maruti Suzuki Celerio diesel variant:
- Engine: In-line two cylinder, 800cc diesel engine
- Horsepower: 51.26
- Torque: 150 Nm
- Transmission: Manual(no AMT in diesel variant)
- Fuel efficiency: 30 kpl (estimated)
In terms of design, Maruti Suzuki would not be changing anything except a diesel badge on the rear. The Celerio diesel is expected to be available in two trim options.
Cellerin diesel will have to face competition from newly launched Tata Bolt. General Motors diesel Beat is also a contender in this segment, however, we believe Maruti Suzuki has the situation in control.
