Maruti Suzuki & Punjab Government To Manage Driving Institutes
Maruti Suzuki is the leading car manufacturer and seller in India. They involve themselves in several local campaigns to promote safety as well as their brand.
The Japanese manufacturer has now announced that it would be partnering with Punjab Government. They will manage 32 driving and training institutes in the state.
At these institutes there would be driving simulators, classroom teaching and practical training all this will be done to improve driving qualities. Once fully functional they plan to train over 10,000 applicants per year.
Anurag Agarwal, Secretary, Transport, Government of Punjab commented, "We are delighted to partner with the country's leading carmaker on the critical subject of Road Safety."
He further added, "We will benefit from Maruti Suzuki's vast experience and expertise in this area. Over 10,000 learners initially are expected to benefit from the state of the art facilities of Driving Training Institutes spread in Punjab."
Maruti Suzuki India Limited will be in charge of Driving Training Institutes in Punjab. This initiative will also provide a form of employment to the youth of Punjab.
The Japanese manufacturer will be investing INR 3 crore in this CSR program. Driving Training Institutes will be located close to automated driving test tracks, it will also be used by RTO's for driving license tests.
