Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Diesel Expected Launch By 2015-end

Maruti Suzuki will be introducing their Alto 800 diesel-powered compact hatchback in the country. This new model is expected in India by 2015-end as the latest variant in the range.

Japanese automobile manufacturer recently launched its Celerio diesel variant, which has received an overwhelming response. They are expecting to replicate this with their Alto 800.

Currently the Alto 800 model is available as petrol or CNG powered options. The diesel engine in the Alto 800 will most probably be the same from the Celerio diesel hatchback.

Here are the technical specifications that could be provided in Alto 800 diesel:

• Engine: 793cc in-line two cylinder
• Horsepower: 46
• Torque: 125Nm
• Gearbox: 5-speed manual transmission

In terms of design and features there is most likely going to be no new addition. Only change will be a diesel badge in the rear, no other changes will be made to Alto 800 diesel variant.

Maruti Suzuki has sold over a million models of each, the Alto, Maruti 800, Omni, Wagon R, Swift and Swift Dzire. They would like to boost sales further of the Alto in the country with the inclusion of a diesel mill.
