Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift To Be Launched On 15th October

Maruti Suzuki will be providing the Ertiga MPV with a highly anticipated facelift. This new version of the Ertiga is expected to launch in the country on 15th of October 2015, and sales will commence soon.

Maruti Suzuki will be providing the Ertiga with an automatic transmission. The Japanese based manufacturer, is also expected to provide an SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) engine option. The SHVS engine is offered on the Maruti Ciaz model as well. The 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine is coupled to a lithium-ion battery pack.

This hybrid engine in the 2015 Ertiga will be capable of producing 89 horsepower and 200Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and is expected to be a popular choice among MPV buyers.

Several design changes will also be provided to the new Ertiga like a redesigned front bumper with new fog lamps encased in chrome, and a new rear bumper. The Front grille now gets three-slat chrome treatment and the rear license plate gets chrome applique as well. Inside, the Ertiga will sport an engine start/ stop button with keyless entry. The 2015 model will feature SmartPlay infotainment, electric folding mirrors, and new upholstery as well.

In terms of safety, Maruti Suzuki is expected to provide their base variant with driver airbags as standard equipment. The New Ertiga's base variant will not have ABS nor EBD, which is slightly disappointing.

Maruti Suzuki will be following up the launch of the new Ertiga with their most anticipated launch of 2015—the Baleno premium hatchback, which is set to launch on 26th of October 2015.
