Maruti Suzuki Baleno Bookings Going Berserk Within Two Days Of Launch

Maruti Suzuki launched its premium hatchback, the Baleno in India on October 26, 2015. The response has been good from customers for this new hatchback. The Baleno has recorded over 4,500 bookings, in the first two days alone.

The Baleno faces tough competition in the premium hatchback segment in India. Maruti Suzuki has to compete with Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20. Both hatchbacks were launched a while ago and are hugely popular with Indian vehicle buyers.

The Baleno premium hatchback is sold exclusively through Maruti Suzuki's NEXA dealership, which currently offer only the S-Cross and Baleno models. Maruti Suzuki explains that most customers are stepping into Nexa showrooms to inquire about the Baleno hatchback.

Maruti Suzuki has designed and developed the Baleno premium hatchback keeping in mind export markets. The Baleno is could be exported to over 100 countries across the globe. Maruti Suzuki will manufacture this premium hatchback solely in its Indian facility.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno with a 1,248cc diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti also offers a 1,197cc petrol engine, which is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki plans on launching several new products in India that will boost sales further. Next product to be launched in the country is a compact SUV model. Maruti Suzuki will showcase several of their upcoming launches at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
