India's largest manufacturer and seller of utility vehicles, Mahindra has a wide range of products on offer. They plan to introduce more modern and appealing products for 2015 to appeal to the younger generation. It also plans to introduce minor changes and upgrades to its current portfolio.
Mahindra is popularly known for their tough and off-road capable products. The Thar is by far their most trusted brand of vehicle when it comes to extreme adventure lovers in India. Its unique retro-styling matched with a strong engine up front is a must have for any off-road lover.
The Indian manufacturer has decided that for 2015 they will spruce up their vehicle to suit modern standards. Mahindra will introduce mild updates to its Thar as part of 2015 upgrades. We expect mild updates to both interior as well as exterior of the vehicle.
The Thar is offered with two diesel engine options:
- A 2523cc diesel engine, will be capable of producing 63 bhp and 182.5 Nm of peak torque. It gets paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and will be either offered as RWD or 4WD option.
- The 2498cc diesel engine will generate 105 bhp and 247 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and powers all four wheels.
The interior is expected to receive maximum number of changes in 2015 Thar. Mahindra will feature an all new sporty looking dashboard, along with a centre console. Improved air-conditioning system, entertainment unit, along with new four-wheel drive lever, gear shift lever and handbrake lever.
The exterior will get minor changes like a hardtop option, bigger wheel arches and improved headlight and tail lamps. We also believe the 2015 Thar will be offered in new paint schemes and trendy decals. They will increase the price of the vehicle substantially over the previous model.
