Mahindra Achieves A New Sales Milestone With The TUV300

Mahindra achieves an impressive sales milestone; the TUV300 (compact SUV) has managed to sell over 4,300 units within a month of its launch. This compact SUV has overtaken several of its competitors in terms of first month sales.

The TUV300 has beaten Ford's EcoSport in the compact SUV segment. Ford, the American-based automobile manufacturer, managed to sell 3,142 units of the EcoSport in the very first month of sales in India.

Unfortunately, Mahindra has not been able to match the current record holder—the Hyundai Creta, which managed to sell 7,320 units. The Creta has an advantage over its competition with an inclusion of a diesel automatic option.

The TUV300 is an all-new product offering from Mahindra, which was built from the ground up. Mahindra expressed that the overall design of this compact SUV was inspired by battle tanks.

Currently, the TUV300 is offered with a standard all-new mHawk80, 1.5-litre diesel engine, mated to either a manual or an AMT gearbox. This engine develops 83.5bhp and 230Nm of torque.

In terms of safety, Mahindra has provided their base variant with optional safety equipment. The TUV300 is being offered with front driver and passenger airbags, seatbelt reminder, digital immobiliser, auto door lock, ABS with EBD, and a 5+2 seating configuration. This seating arrangement is not available on any compact SUV sold in India.

The TUV300 is also one of the most affordable compact SUVs with a base price of Rs. 6.9 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai).
