Mahindra & Mahindra May Be Looking At Purchasing Pininfarina
India's largest manufacturer of utility vehicles Mahindra & Mahindra is out on the hunt to acquire another international company. They are looking at purchasing Pininfarina an Italian brand that specializes in concept vehicle designing.
Mahindra has not confirmed this report, however, they have previously tried buying out other companies. The Indian manufacturer was looking at other options like Aston Martin as well, which did not materialise.
Pininfarina has helped several manufacturers design their vehicles. The Italian firm is one of the best automobile designing firms around the globe.
The automobile design firm has produced vehicles for Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Honda and many more companies. Pininfarina has developed several concept vehicles over the years and could help Mahindra in the design department.
Mahindra currently has an international brand in the form of Ssangyong. They plan on introducing the South-Korean brand in several markets to increase sales. The Tivoli compact SUV is their first true global product.
The Indian manufacturer recently announced that they have purchased two-wheeler division of Peugeot. Mahindra has no intentions of bringing the French two-wheeler maker to India and are running it as a separate company altogether.
