BMW Leads Luxury Car Market In Terms Of Sales; Mercedes In Hot Pursuit
The luxury car market is a growing segment around the world and leading this segment is BMW. Mercedes is in hot pursuit at second place, leaving Volkswagen-owned Audi in the third position.
Audi managed to sell 17,700 vehicles in the US in October alone, in spite of the Diesel Gate scandal, which affected sales of models such as the A3 and Q5, equipped with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. In the first ten months of 2015, Audi managed to sell 1.49 million vehicles.
German rival, Mercedes-Benz managed to sell 1.53 million vehicles from January to October this year. Mercedes has seen strong sales worldwide, but the market leader at the moment is BMW, having sold 1.56 million vehicles.
The luxury car market has always seen a strong battle between the three German carmakers, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW. Looking at the current standings, Mercedes-Benz does have a chance to beat BMW by the year-end.
