Jaguar Land Rover’s Remote Controlled Range Rover
Jaguar Land Rover has showcased a remote controlled Range Rover Sport, that can be controlled using a mobile phone. The app in the smartphone includes controls to steer, accelerate, brake and to shift from high and low range.
Features such as this will allow the driver to control the car from the outside, while tackling tough off road conditions, where visibility will be less when seated inside.
Also, this will enable the driver to park the car and get out of tight parking spots without even being in the car.
The driver will be able to check ramp, approach and departure angles and allow precise positioning of the vehicle when crawling over rocks.
The usage of controlling the vehicle with the phone however, is limited. The user has to be within 10 meters from the car, and also, the smart key has to be detected.
All this means that Jaguar has the base it needs to develop autonomous cars.
