Hyundai To Enter MPV Segment In India By 2016
Hyundai India has successfully launched their first compact SUV in the country. They have also confirmed their future plans in the Indian market, which is a vital market around the globe.
The Korean based automobile manufacturer has confirmed that they are working on new platforms. Among their new products Hyundai will introduce its first MPV in the country.
They had previously showcased a concept back in 2012 called Hexa Space. Hyundai engineers and designers will use it as a template to create their first MPV for Indian market.
Undoubtedly the MPV will get Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 design language. It is currently unclear what this model could be named, however, Hexa Space does not sound all that bad.
Just as they introduced the Creta with an AMT option in diesel engine trim, a similar move could be applied to their all-new MPV model, which could make its Indian debut at 2016 Auto Expo.
In terms of engine options, it is a bit too early to discuss that and Hyundai could use their existing engines. Priority lies in introducing an AMT option, which will push the sales of their MPV as soon as it is launched.
