C-NCAP Awards Hyundai ix25 5 Stars For Safety
China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) has awarded the Hyundai ix25 five stars in terms of safety. The ix25 was recently launched in China.
Four types of crash tests was conducted on the new compact SUV from the South Korean automaker, Hyundai.
The four tests that were carried out were:
- 100 percent overlap crash
- side impact
- 40 percent overlap front
- whiplash
The tests were carried out at a speed of 50 km/h. The ix25 scored 15.89 points for the frontal crash tests out of 18, and scored a full 18 out of 18 for the side impact tests.
The variant that the crash tests were conducted on was a base model of the ix25, which has no side and curtain airbags. This proves that the structural build of the ix25 is really good.
The 40 percent overlap test was carried out at 64 Km/h, and the vehicle scored a 14.11 out of 18. The whiplash test was carried out at 15.65 Km/h and the SUV scored full marks.
The Hyundai ix25 will be launched in India, mostly towards mid year. The vehicle will be available with two engine options, a diesel and a petrol.
