Hyundai Creta Exports Delayed Due To Huge Indian Demand

The Creta (compact SUV) from Hyundai is supposed to be manufactured in India and exported to several markets. Hyundai has now delayed the Creta launch in several global markets, owing to the overwhelming demand in the Indian market itself.

Hyundai India has received over 32,000 bookings of the Creta within a few months of its launch. The manufacturing unit plans on increasing production by 40 percent, which should cater to the huge Indian demand for this compact SUV.

Currently, Hyundai India has a capacity of producing 5,000 Creta compact SUVs per month, and this production will be the highest output and delivery of a compact SUV in the country.

Indian customers who have booked the Creta have to wait for approximately six to five months for delivery. Production of the Hyundai Creta is thus being increased, so, the waiting period can be reduced significantly. International markets will get the Creta compact SUV between November to December 2015.

Hyundai is offering the Creta in a petrol and diesel engine. This compact SUV, however, has an edge over its Indian competitors; Creta is the only model that offers an automatic transmission with a diesel engine in this segment.
