Honda India Taking Compact SUV Market Seriously; Exploring Options
The compact SUV segment is constantly evolving in India, more and more manufacturers are entering this segment. At the moment there are not many manufacturers with models for this new market.
Hyundai has just introduced their Creta in compact SUV segment. It will face tough competition from the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport and soon to be launched S-Cross from Maruti Suzuki.
The only major manufacturer that does not have an offering in this segment is Honda India. They are currently exploring options and opportunities in the market, but are keen to introduce a compact SUV though.
Honda India recently brought back its premium hatchback the Jazz to India, in an all-new avatar. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is confident that its products will be successful in India.
From 20th to 30th of August, 2015, Honda will be present at the Indonesia Auto Show. They will be showcasing their compact SUV derived from the Brio platform called the BR-V prototype.
There is a high possibility that Honda could offer the BR-V in India as well. Japanese manufacturer will surely showcase its upcoming compact SUV offering for India at 2016 Auto Expo.
