The 2015 Shanghai Motor Show is underway and several manufacturers have revealed their new products. Honda has showcased its all-new Concept D model, which will be launched in the crossover segment.
Honda is most likely to introduce this vehicle as a premium crossover. It will be launched primarily in China and Japanese markets, they will eventually offer it in several other global markets.
Japanese automobile giant, Honda has revealed its all-new Concept D model at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. This new model will be used to develop their premium crossover model for China and Japan.
The front of Concept D is unmistakably Honda's as it features the prominent chrome applique that houses the logo. LED lights are used as headlamps and a unique DRL system running from top to bottom and joining both sides is most likely not to make it to production phase.
We like how Honda has opted for a box-type design over the more curvy and rounded-off design. The gentle slope given to Concept D by Honda designers give it a sense of being longer than it really is. We expect that the wheel arch and body kit will be streamlined and would not look as beefy as it does at concept stage.
Rear section of Concept D looks stylish modern and unique. We liked the integration of brake light in the spoiler up top. Tail lights look simple and have a C-shape with turn indicators included in them. Bumper looks sporty and out of place on a premium crossover, something a little more simpler would make it look more elegant.
Honda designers have overall done an excellent job with the Concept D model. It is far from production phase and will undergo several changes. The shape and certain other elements will stay, however, in our opinion many of them will make way for a more simpler and elegant looking crossover.
