Honda Brio Based Compact SUV Imported Into India For Tests
Honda had promised that they would be bringing a compact SUV to India soon. It has been unclear to most of us if the Japanese manufacturer would launch one of their existing products or a completely new model.
The Brio hatchback has served as a base to several of their models. Now Honda has imported to India their Brio based compact SUV for tests within the country.
This compact SUV will not be launched in India anytime soon and is expected between 2016-2017. Brio based compact SUV is still in a concept phase and it will take a while before it is ready.
The research and development of Honda's compact SUV will be done at their facility in Greater Noida. It is possible that this new model will not be a sub-4 metre product and will be bigger in terms of size.
Under the hood of their first compact SUV in India, Honda will provide both a petrol and diesel 1.5-litre engine. This is the same engine that has been used in Mobilio and City for India.
Honda will be launching their all-new Jazz and Amaze facelift in India during 2015. During 2016 the Japanese manufacturer will introduce new Accord and this compact SUV.
