Honda BR-V Prototype Revealed At Indonesia Motor Show; India Bound
Honda has finally unveiled its BR-V prototype at 2015 Indonesia Motor Show, which is also expected to be showcased in India. This compact SUV is based on their Brio platform, which has been used previously.
Brio platform has given us the Brio hatchback, Amaze compact sedan and Mobilio MPV. Honda BR-V will go on sale in Indonesia first and then it will be launched in several other countries.
Noriaki Abe, C.O.O. for Regional Operation (Asia and Oceania) of Honda, expressed, "Honda started business in Indonesia in 1971, and the importance of this country for Honda's auto business has been increasing year by year."
He further added, "With the all-new 7-seat BR-V and the rest of the Honda line-up, we will continue to offer exciting products and the joy of driving to our customers in Indonesia."
Here are the technical specifications of Honda BR-V:
- Engine: 1.5-litre i-VTEC
- Horsepower: 120
- Torque: 145 Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed manual or CVT
Exterior of Honda BR-V will sport high ground clearance, big roof rails, 16-inch aluminium wheels and LED tail light in C-shape. Interior will spacious and comfortable with focus on knee and head room, it will also get a multi-information display and rear air-conditioner as well.
Here are the safety features that will be provided in Honda BR-V:
- Dual and front SRS airbag
- ABS with EBD
- Vehicle Stability Assist
- Hill Start Assist
- Front 3-point load limiter with pretensioner ELR seat Belt and ISOFIX
Japanese automobile manufacturer has confirmed that their BR-V will go into production by January, 2016. It will be priced between INR 10,90,488 to INR 12,56,431 in Indonesian market, India too could witness similar pricing.
