Honda recently launched its premium hatchback in India for a second time. The Jazz is now offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, they have also witnessed overwhelming bookings in India.
The Japanese manufacturer currently does not have a compact SUV model on offer in India. Honda is keen to bring its BR-V model to the country as soon as possible.
The BR-V compact SUV will be showcased in production guise at 2015 Indonesia Motor Show. The auto show is scheduled to commence on 20th to 30th of August, 2015 in Tangerang, Indonesia.
Powering the BR-V compact SUV will be both petrol as well as diesel engine options. These engines will be mated to optional 6-speed manual transmission or CVT gearbox.
The manufacturer is expected to debut the BR-V in India during the 2016 Auto Expo, which will be held in Delhi. Honda will be developing this model on the base of their Brio platform, which is used for the Amaze and Mobilio as well.
Honda explain BR-V stands for Bold Runabout Vehicle and will have tough competition in India. The compact SUV will rival the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Mahindra TUV300.
