The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved two road projects worth INR 4721 crore on Wednesday.
Of the two road projects, one will be in Madhya Pradesh and the other in Telangana. The National Highways Development Project will execute the project.
The entire stretch from Hyderabad to Warangal will be four-laned, once the project is completed. The main objective of this project is to develop infrastructure, reduce cost and shorten the time taken to travel.
A statement said: "The main object of the project is to expedite the improvement of infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and also in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Guna-Biaora-Dewas, which are major cities of Madhya Pradesh."
Roads in Madhya Pradesh need a lot of work. Many heavy vehicles travel this way, leaving the road in a bad shape. Once the project is complete, it will surely make a difference. The only concern now is how long will it take to complete the project.
