Ford Mustang Headed To Asia
For the first time in its 50-year history, the Ford Mustang will be available to customers around the world in more than 100 markets. First shipments of the highly anticipated Mustang are headed for Asia, with vehicles arriving in Europe mid-year.
The all-new Ford Mustang, which is assembled in Flat Rock, Michigan, now joins other Ford and Lincoln vehicles that are being exported to countries abroad.
In 2013, Ford Motor Company shipped more than 380,000 vehicles from the United States, making the automaker a top U.S. exporter of vehicles.
Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas said, "Henry Ford exported the sixth Model A assembled in 1903 and we continue this legacy today."
"The success of our One Ford plan presents opportunities for growth in global markets. Exporting Ford and Lincoln vehicles to Asia Pacific and beyond is an important part of Ford's global growth story. Mustang is just one more example of the international demand for Ford cars and trucks."
