Ford India To Invest USD 2 Billion In Tamil Nadu Facility
Ford is confident that its Indian operation will do well in the future. They have recently introduced their first compact sedan called Figo Aspire and will also update their Figo hatchback.
The American based automobile manufacturer has confirmed a USD 2 million investment in Tamil Nadu facility. It will be creating thousands of new jobs for citizens of Chennai.
Dave Schoch, President of Ford Asia Pacific, expressed, "India is at the center of innovation at Ford and we are delighted to strengthen our presence with a new global engineering and technology centre."
He further added, "This is the next chapter of our India journey. With these latest investments, we are making rapid progress in our vision of driving innovation from India to the world."
They will also host Ford Global Business Services in areas of IT, product engineering, finance and accounting, data analytics, manufacturing and several other departments.
Currently Ford India has 14,000 employees, which include a mix of men and women. They also have 341 outlets spread across the country, which include sales and service outlets.
