Ford Figo India Launch Pushed Back To 2015-End
Ford is set to introduce a few new products for Indian market this year. They recently showcased their compact sedan, which has been christened the Figo Aspire.
The production model was revealed at inauguration of Ford's new facility. The Figo hatchback is also set for a new look and design change, however, its launch date is being pushed further behind.
The Figo hatchback is currently on offer in India and Ford will be replacing it with a more modern and up to date version. There is talk now that the compact sedan will launch in a couple of months, while the hatchback will be pushed further to 2015-end.
The American based manufacturer has already introduced both vehicles for the Brazilian market. Ford has christened the models Ka and Ka+ as hatchback and compact sedan respectively.
Ford India will be providing the new Figo with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that does duty in Fiesta and EcoSport. They will continue using the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that is used in current generation hatchback.
Both new Figo and Figo Aspire will share several design elements. They will also have similar features and are expected to be better than its competitors in India.
In India, the new Figo by Ford will compete with Honda Brio, Tata Bolt, Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Figo Aspire will take on Honda Amaze, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
