Ford has made it clear that India is an important market for them, and also a manufacturing hub. The American based manufacturer also exports its compact SUV to several developing markets.
The EcoSport has now managed to sell over 2,00,000 units, which were made at their Indian facility. Ford has achieved this sale milestone within a short period of two years, since it was launched in India first.
Over 1,12,000 EcoSport have been sold in India, while 88,000 units of the compact SUV were exported. Ford has received an overwhelming response in domestic and international markets.
Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford India, expressed, "The EcoSport, since its launch, has been appreciated for its compelling value proposition and we would like to thank all our customers for their patronage."
He further added, "The 200,000 sales milestone is yet another testament to the inherent strengths of our compact SUV that continues to set new benchmarks even in a challenging market."
