Ford Cobra Jet Mustang Revealed; To Debut At 2015 SEMA Show
Ford Cobra Jet Mustang revealed in an all-new video and will make its public debut at the 2015 SEMA motor show. They have also revealed the specifications of this performance model. Ford Performance has confirmed that only 50 of these race-ready models will be built.
Powering the 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang is a 5.0-litre, V8 supercharged, petrol engine. The engine is tuned by Ford Performance and produces 575bhp. Ford has also provided an electric water pump that keeps the engine cool; this system is borrowed from their C-MAX hybrid model.
Ford's Cobra Jet Mustang can take on a quarter mile in a matter of eight seconds, which is impressive. The engine used in this model makes use of almost 75 percent of the components used in the production version of the Mustang GT. Ford Performance has provided the vehicle with a front inlet Whipple supercharger.
The 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang will be available in two exciting colour options, of which only 25 will be made in each paint scheme. Ford Performance will be offering their vehicle in Deep Impact Blue or Oxford White paint job with Cobra Jet livery.
Ford Performance team has provided the Cobra Jet Mustang with an 8.50-certified roll cage, Corbeau FIA seats, 5-point race harness, Aeromotive fuel system with trunk-mounted fuel cell, and a race-spec automatic transmission.
Production of the Cobra Jet Mustang has commenced at Ford's Flat Rock facility in Michigan. Ford promises that deliveries will begin from the first quarter of 2016. Unfortunately, only 50 models will ever be made and will be a car collector's fantasy to own one.
