Force India Aims Higher Position In 2016 Formula One Season
Sahara Force India Formula One team entered the F1 Championship back in 2008. The team has taken part in over 150 races and has been on the podium three times so far. For the 2016 Championship, however, the goals have been set higher than ever.
In 2015, Force India secured fifth place in the Formula One Constructors title. The Indian team defeated rivals Lotus and McLaren by a huge margin. For 2016, their goal is to defeat both Red Bull racing and Williams Racing as well with an aim on third place in the Championship.
The team has also retained its drivers for the third year in a row, who are well acquainted with current machinery. Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez have displayed excellent performance during 2015 and are confident on doing the same in the 2016 season.
During the 2015 Formula One season, Sergio Perez stood on the podium at the Russian GP, securing third place. Both Perez and Hulkenberg were not confident on staying with Force India. Hulkenberg has extended his contract by two years while Perez has promised to stay for one more season.
Force India is expected to receive a boost in its Championship aspiration for next year. There are rumours that the Indian team could tie-up with Aston Martin. An announcement is expected on this deal if it goes through prior to 2016 Championship opener.
