Fiat Aegea Project Christened As Tipo Ahead Of Launch

The Fiat Aegea Project has been christened as Tipo and has been put into production as well. The Tipo is expected to be Fiat Linea's replacement in the Indian market. Internationally it is expected to be sold in two body styles.

The Fiat Tipo will sport four exciting engine options and will be offered in manual and automatic transmission. On offer will be two petrol and two diesel MultiJet II turbo engines. The engines will be capable of developing 95 to 120 horsepower.

The Italian based automobile manufacturer will provide the Tipo with a touch-screen Uconnect infotainment system with handsfree Bluetooth connectivity. It will also feature TomTom navigation and a rear parking camera.

Fiat Tipo will be initially sold only in the United Kingdom and will eventually provide this model to several other countries.

Dimensions of the Fiat Tipo are as follows: 4.5 metres in length, 1.78 metres in width and a height of 1.48 metres. The wheelbase is 2.64 metres and it will be spacious enough to accommodate five individuals, and will boast a 510 litres of boot space.

Fiat Tipo has been designed and crafted in Italy with inputs from Tofas R&D in Turkey. The sedan will be manufactured in Turkey and will be exported to other markets. In Turkey, the model will be known as Aegea.
