Fiat Abarth Punto Evo T-Jet Launching By 2015-End
Abarth has planned to launch their products in India for a while now. They showcased their Abarth 500 model at 2014 Auto Expo and there was talk of a performance Punto as well.
Now spy images have surfaced online of a Punto Evo T-Jet variant, which is scheduled to launch by 2015-end. It is most likely that the Italian based manufacturer will launch the Punto Evo as well as the Avventura with this performance engine.
Fiat Punto Evo is available currently in both petrol and diesel engine options. They offer a single diesel mill and two petrol engines that are naturally aspirated.
Abarth will tune a 1.4-litre T-Jet engine specially for Punto Evo. This mill will generate 135 bhp and will receive a turbocharger as well. Engineers will provide disc brakes to all four wheels and will pair the engine to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Abarth logo is an exclusive image and will appeal to several enthusiasts. The value of the Punto Evo will surely be boosted by Abarth branding. We too will be eagerly waiting to this model out.
Once launched the Abarth Punto Evo will compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT and Tata Bolt Sport. Pricing has not been revealed, however, we expect it to be priced considerably higher than the regular hatchback.
