Fiat 500 Abarth Coming To India Soon Teased On Website

Fiat Chrysler India had showcased its performance oriented 500 model at 2014 Auto Expo. It will bear the elusive Abarth badge upfront and will be a statement in itself.

The Abarth 500 has finally been teased on Fiat India's website. Italian based manufacturer has confirmed that it will be coming soon and its launch has been highly anticipated.

Previously it has been showcased on several occasions by Fiat at various dealerships. They perhaps have decided to go ahead and introduce this performance-based hatchback in India.

Here are the technical specifications of Abarth 500 coming to India soon:

• Engine: 1.4-litre MultiAir
• Horsepower: 160
• Torque: 230 Nm
• Gearbox: 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission

It is most likely that the Abarth will be introduced in India via Completely Built Unit route. Fiat India is looking at possibilities of local assembly, which could be introduced at a later stage.

There have also been rumours of Fiat introducing an Abarth Punto for India. So far no details have been confirmed by Fiat India on a performance focussed Punto Evo for India.
