Datsun Redi-Go To Be Based On CMF-A Platform

Datsun had revealed its Redi-Go concept car at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Japanese automobile manufacturer will be introducing this vehicle, and will be positioned below the Go hatchback in India.

The Redi-Go will be based on the CMF-A platform which will be used by Renault-Nissan Alliance. French car maker has revealed its KWID small car, which is developed on this platform.

The Japanese-French duo has confirmed that they will no longer cross-badge future models in any market. Most popular cross-badged product is the Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster.

Regarding design, both KWID by Renault and Nissan KWID will be totally different. This is good news for customers as they do not want same cars with different badges upfront, which affect pricing.

They will most likely be powered by similar engine units, which will be basic and cost effective. Renault has provided the KWID with several features, however, do not expect the same from Datsun and its Redi-Go.

Datsun will focus on offering the most affordable small car in India. The Redi-Go will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Hyundai Eon,and even Tata's soon to be launched Kite.
