Daimler And Renault-Nissan JV To Create New Jobs In Mexico

COMPAS (Cooperation Manufacturing Plant Aguascalientes), a joint venture between Daimler and Renault-Nissan in Mexico, will invest USD 1 billion.

This investment is to construct a new manufacturing plant for the production of Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti compact vehicles.

This newly proposed plant will be located near the Nissan Aguascalientes A2 plant, with an initial annual production capacity of more than 230,000 vehicles. This plant will also create 3,600 direct jobs in Mexico by 2020.

The production of Infiniti vehicles will begin in 2017 and the production of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will begin in 2018.

COMPAS will manufacture next generation premium compact vehicles in its other manufacturing facilities as well, located in China and Europe. The two partners will closely collaborate at every stage of the product creation process.
