Made in India FUSO Trucks Launched In South Africa
Daimler India announced on October 26, 2015, they launched the FUSO trucks in South Africa. The FUSO truck is made in India and is exported to 13 other countries.
Currently, Daimler India Commercial Vehicle Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) will export light to medium duty trucks. The export strategy will provide a base for the manufacturer in South Africa to launch more of their products. Daimler commenced export of commercial vehicles from India during May 2013.
Erich Nesselhauf, M.D. & CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, expressed, export of the FUSO trucks to South Africa is part of their global strategy. These trucks have proven themselves in 13 other markets and are ready to take on the challenges in South Africa as well.
He further added, the FUSO trucks are manufactured and developed in India. All their products adhere to industry standards and are proving they are not different from other global players. The vehicles showcase quality, economic efficiency, and functional design.
The FUSO trucks are highly customisable and offer a flexible product to its customers around the world. Daimler has put their trucks through rigorous testing under extreme road and climatic conditions. They also ensure that all their commercial vehicles are fuel efficient and robust, thus enhancing customer experience.
Daimler India promises to launch the FUSO trucks in several international markets. They have an Asian strategy in place with Kawasaki and Oragadam* plant for optimising research activities, product development, thereby providing reliable, efficient and quality products.
*Oragadam is known as the biggest automobile hub in South Asia. This industrial area is located on the outskirts of Chennai.
