2015 Detroit Auto Show: Chevrolet Bolt EV Concept Showcased
Chevrolet is showcasing its EV technology with gusto this year in Detroit, and the Bolt is the latest concept revealed in this regard. Chevrolet is targeting a price of under USD 30,000 for the new car, and the EV is claimed to be capable of a range of 200 miles.
The Bolt features an airy cabin with extensive use of glass all around, including a wraparound rear windscreen and full-length frosted glass roof. The car is also claimed to have a ‘roomy environment for four that feels expansive' because of the extremely short front and rear overhangs that maximise interior room.
Chevy's new EV will feature driving modes that can be chosen for different driving styles, including daily commuting and ‘spirited weekend cruising', and will be capable of mapping the accelerator pedal, suspension and ride height.
General Motors CEO, Mary Barra said, "We have made tremendous strides in technologies that make it easier and more affordable for Chevrolet customers to integrate an all-electric vehicle in their daily lives," said Barra. "The Bolt EV concept demonstrates General Motors' commitment to electrification and the capabilities of our advanced EV technology."
