Carmakers are gearing up for the upcoming festive season by stocking up their dealerships. The wholesale delivery of cars to dealerships has seen 9 percent growth in September.
With the festive season starting from the 13th of October onwards, dealerships are getting ready to meet customer demands which goe up during this period. This will be a good time for carmakers to register high sales, and the recent cut in interest rates by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will also help.
The wholesale deliveries according to data by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) in September 2015 stood at 1.7 lakh units, as compared to 1.5 lakh units during September 2014.
Sugato Sen, the Deputy Director General of SIAM said, "Companies such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Honda have been doing good due to new product launches, which is driving growth in the passenger car segment."
A few models such as the Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Creta have received good response by customers and another car to look out for during this festive season is the Renault Kwid, which has been recently launched.
