Bob Marley's Land Rover Restored By Sandals Resorts International
Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has found a brilliant way to celebrate Bob Marley's 70th birthday by successfully restoring the Jamaican legends Land Rover.
The 1977 matte blue Land Rover Series III fell victim to age after the singer passed away 30 years ago. SRI officials, along with the company's Jamaican affiliate, ATL Automotive, ITC and Marley's family members took the initiative to restore the vehicle in 2012.
The restored Land Rover was debuted this week, after being worked from clutch to chassis.
SRI officials have returned the vehicle to Bob Marley's former home at Hope Road in Kingston, which is now a museum dedicated to his memory.
The restored vehicle will be unveiled at a reggae concert, and will also be displayed at a variety of events this year.
Back in the days, Bob Marley was frequently seen driving this Land Rover around Kingston, the city which inspired numerous songs to Marley, which were a hit.
Bob Marley used this very Land Rover to transport his band and their equipment to places across Jamaica for his performances.
