Is BMW Planning An Electric SUV?
Tesla has got the game going with the Model X, an electric SUV and the Germans might have an answer to that with an electric SUV of their own.
German media claim that the electric SUV from BMW could be nearing approval and might be built in the US. Harald Kruger, BMW boss wants to invest USD 1.29 million in the North Carolina plant to make room to build the new SUV.
Since the BMW board is yet to vote, the estimated date of when the SUV will roll out is unknown and so is when the board will vote.
If predicted based on the Tesla Model X, which is to be available with the dealers soon, BMW could launch the vehicle in three years.
Again, none of the news is verified and solid since BMW claim that they have no plans on building an electric SUV.
Although BMW denies anything about an electric vehicle, there are high chances of them keeping the development low since even Audi has plans of an electric SUV.
