BMW Concept Compact Sedan Unveiled At Guangzhou Show
BMW unveils its new compact sedan at 2015 Guangzhou Motor Show. BMW has revealed the compact sedan as a close to production-ready model. BMW could introduce this product in several emerging markets by 2017.
The BMW Concept Compact Sedan will compete against Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3 models, both of which are doing exceptionally well in the Indian market. Surprisingly, BMW has not explored this segment in the Indian market.So far, BMW officials have not disclosed engine layouts and capacities. It is sure to receive a front wheel drive system as standard. BMW engineers will surely provide both petrol and diesel engine options, that could be sourced from existing models to keep costs low.
The exterior design of BMW Concept Compact Sedan will bear traditional design cues. It will sport the traditional BMW kidney grille up front with twin LED rings and projector headlights. The front and rear bumper receives sporty and aerodynamic design elements.
Within the cabin of BMW Concept Compact Sedan will be premium and several technological goodies. BMW will provide the vehicle with an 8-inch infotainment system. They will also be providing Nappa leather seats, heads-up display, panoramic sunroof, orange accent lighting, and touch sensitive controls.
BMW is most likely to name the Concept Compact Sedan as the new 1-Series sedan in most countries. The compact sedan will be based on BMW's UKL platform and will be their entry-level sedan in several markets.
