Automatic Vehicle Inspection Centre To Open On 14th Oct
The first automatic vehicle inspection centre in India, at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Nashik is all set to be operational from the 14th of October.
This new inspection and certification centre is sponsored by the central and state government, and will be operated by Rosmerta Technology Ltd.
Once this new automatic inspection centre is operational, all vehicles will be tested here itself, before issuing Fitness Certificates (FC). The mechanical parts of vehicles will be checked here while body conditions will be checked by RTO officials.
This new inspection centre will check the vehicle's brakes, pollution, headlamps, steering play of vehicles, etc., before the the roadworthiness of the vehicle is determined.
Vehicles that are due to be tested for fitness, will have to submit documents, following which an appointment will be issued for the vehicles to be tested.
The automatic vehicle inspection centre was inaugurated back in June this year, by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Roads, Highways and Shipping. He said more such centres will be opened across the country soon.
