2015 Audi Quattro Cup India Concludes, Mexico To Host Finals
Audi India, one of the leading German luxury car manufacturers concluded the India leg of Audi quattro Cup 2015 in a closely contested final held in Istanbul, Turkey on July 11th.
In the India final hosted by Audi India at the Kemer Golf and Country Club, Harbir Singh Sukhija and Rohit Jhawar representing Audi Gurgaon garnered 38 points to qualify for the World Final to be held at Los Cabos, Mexico later this year.
Joe King, the Head of Audi India said, "Audi quattro Cup is celebrating its 25 th year globally and is a prestigious event with the finalists playing against some of the best in the world."
"Audi is a brand for young achievers and Audi quattro Cup is an important platform for us to engage them in a sporty, progressive and sophisticated manner that is synonymous with the Audi brand. This year the Audi quattro Cup touched over 1500 golfers in all across 13 cities."
For the third year running, the team representing Audi Ahmedabad comprising of Prashant Amin and Pranav Shah finished runners-up with a total of 37 points while the team from Hyderabad consisting of CV Ramana Reddy and NRN Reddy secured the third place at 38 points, pipping two other teams on countback.
The India final was a culmination of the nation-wide event conducted across 13 cities. Played on a unique ‘Greensome Stableford' format, two players of varying handicaps were randomly drawn to form a team. The winning team from each of qualifying round earned a spot in the India final.
The added attraction was the presence of brand ambassador Sharmila Nicollet, who engrossed the participants in a 'Beat the Pro' contest on hole number 4.
The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 90,000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup touched over 1500 golfers in all.
