Audi e-Tron Quattro Electric SUV To Debut At Frankfurt Motor Show
Audi will be debuting its e-Tron Quattro pure electric SUV concept at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. German luxury carmaker confirms that this concept will go into production by 2018.
The e-Tron Quattro concept will be capable of going 498 kilometres on a full charge. Audi will use technology that has been previously tested for their R8 e-Tron model project.
This pure electric SUV has been designed to reduce drag and is more aerodynamic than any of their SUV on sale currently. Audi has incorporated its ‘Aerosthetics' concept in e-Tron Quattro.
Powering Audi's e-Tron Quattro will be three electric motors. Two of them will be located for rear wheel axle, while a single electric motor will send power to front axle.
To improve handling and stability Audi will place the battery pack under passenger cabin. Audi e-Tron Quattro pure electric SUV will be capable of accommodating only four passengers at a time.
Interior of e-Tron Quattro will be simple and elegant, it is expected to be futuristic looking with several gadgets. Every feature in the vehicle will be controllable from an OLED display placed in the dashboard.
