Audi & Porsche To Co-Develop New Performance Engines
Both Audi and Porsche are part of the Volkswagen Group, along with several other automobile brands. The German manufacturers will now come together to build performance engines together.
Audi and Porsche will co-develop a range of new performance engines. Their engineers will commence work on preparing new turbocharged V6 and V8 ranges of engines.
These new engines will be used to replace V6 and V8 engines that do duty in their current lineup. Engines developed by Audi and Porsche will also be used by several other brands under the Volkswagen Group.
Currently these engines will work on regular fuel, however, there is a future possibility to introduce electric turbos as well. The engines being developed by Audi and Porsche is called KoVoMO.
Audi-Porsche V6 turbocharged engine will be a 3.0-litre powerhouse. The V8 on the other hand will be mammoth sized 4.0-litre mill, performance figures have not been revealed so far.
New V6 and V8 turbocharged engines could power new models from Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche and Volkswagen. This is a cost effective method and sharing of engines is common between several companies of late.
