Aston Martin Crossover May Strengthen Daimler Partnership
Aston Martin announced its plans for a luxury crossover SUV that may rely heavily on its partnership with Daimler. Aston Martin confirmed plans to increase capital and expand into new vehicle categories.
The British luxury carmaker has raised USD 230 million as additional funding. The stakeholders have agreed to raise the capital as well.
Aston Martin's future SUV could use a four-wheel drive architecture from Daimler. The company currently supplies Aston Martin with electronics and V8 engines from its AMG performance division under a 2013 deal.
Aston Martin is going in for the four-door luxury car plan, under a revived Lagonda badge. The company will also make SUV styled vehicles to attract more youngsters and women to keep pace with the current market.
